There seems to be a never-ending fight between Canon and Nikon. These two DSLRs are now a reasonable price and I don't need it for my profession but just for capturing the beauty all around. Do you have some arguments in favour of a particular model, which can help me to decide?

Better possible kit lenses with Nikon
Nikon has one big advantage, if you want good and inexpensive universal lenses, you can buy Nikkor 18-105 mm f/3.5-5.6. This is great all-round, unfortunately Canon has nothing like this.

Canon has 9-point AF against Nikon's 3-points. In the situation when your object is not directly in the middle of you viewfinder, Canon's focus is more accurate.

Though I have no experience with Nikon, I’ve used several Canon cameras and I've never been disappointed.

Just a personal feeling :-) In fact the light, atmosphere and composition is most important to make an excellent photo. Not the hardware.
