Both compact mini-systems have a great sound. The Denon is cheaper and can play CDs with MP3 files. The Sonata has more real HiFi features. Which one to choose?

I prefer Cambridge Audio Sonata
I had the opportunity to hear both of the systems for several hours. Both mini-systems play very well. Their sound is close to the category of genuine full-size hi-fi components. With small speakers, both systems play at very similar level. When connected to the better speakers (like $1500 per pair), the Sonata is significantly better - the sound is more accurate and more pronounced.
Feb 26, 2011 / DileMaxThe Denon DF-107’s advantage is the ability to play MP3s directly from CDs - The Sonata does not provide this feature. Instead, the Sonata includes a cradle for an iPod or an iPhone in the package. I think, it is a better solution. In addition, the CD player without MP3 support reads the CD more quickly after it’s been inserted.
playing MP3
Denon has native support for playing CDs with mp3 tracks, you can also connect USB stick containing MP3 files. This is big advantage of the Denon.
